1EdTech TrustEd Apps Pledge
A public endorsement of open standards in edtech, run by 1EdTech. PlannedQuest has taken the pledge.
What it is
The pledge is run by 1EdTech, the standards body behind LTI and other edtech interoperability standards. Districts, institutions, departments of education and suppliers all endorse it, and endorsers appear on a public list.
What an endorser actually pledges
- Good-faith integration
- Work with others toward seamless, standards-based integration rather than proprietary lock-in.
- Transparency about certifications
- Be forthcoming about certifications granted and certifications not granted.
- Report deficiencies upstream
- Give feedback on standards problems directly to the appropriate standards provider.
- Fee transparency
- Institutions should be able to understand all fees and pre-conditions involved.
- Standards first
- Advocate standards-based integration as the first and primary option, and advocate for official product certification to open standards with integration partners.
What PlannedQuest does
PlannedQuest has taken the TrustEd Apps Pledge and appears on 1EdTech’s public endorser list.
We integrate through open standards first, and we are straightforward with institutions about what we hold and what we do not.
